(Anita was born in Africa); in the USA, their base is Portland, Oregon.

 
Child soldiers are a fact of the devastating civil war in the Congo.

 
Bruce and Anita Paden stayed in the Congo to help in whatever ways they could,
inspite of the ongoing conflict; their ministry activities have been very diverse.

 
A major focus has been working with children affected by the war; many have
lost family members and witnessed horrendous atrocities.

 
The goal of working with children is to give them hope again; New Hope is the
name given in their language for the Center for Grieving Children.

 
Inspite of grim circumstances, the Padens have made a lasting impact in
this country—a ministry and mission of hope.
