Evolution's Fortress

If evolution is right, then why does the evolution community fortify itself so heavily—and wth such heavy investment of money and media support—against what is treated as a major threat to their enterprise? If they’re right, and since they have complete sway over the media and public education policy in North America and Europe, then why make such a big fuss about it? What's really at stake for them?

Could it be they’re having to shield themselves against the actual truth? Could it be they’re not really all that convinced about what they purport (but evolution is a great philosophy to wield control over the masses)? Or that internally, they’re exceptionally divided about how it all actually happened (which fact holds a lot of truth)?

Would it be fair to say that, bottom line, they’re looking for any way to keep God out of the picture?

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools... Romans 1:18-22

Sounds like Romans chapter one strikes again. Evolution is a handy way to get rid of God, except that it doesn't work.
