There are few places on earth as beautiful and culturally diverse as the state of Manipur in Northeast India. Yet with its long and colorful history, sadly this place, dubbed the “Jewel of India”, has experienced intense political, ethnic and spiritual turmoil for over one hundred years. While the people of Manipur have enjoyed some relatively peaceful times, the tenor of Manipuri life has been full of conflict, struggle, mistrust and violence.

This site is dedicated to the people of Manipur, especially to the majority Meiteis, who have a dominant cultural and political presence in the state. We call for earnest prayer and cooperation among those inside and outside Manipur, especially among the twenty-seven ethnic groups in Manipur. Our desire is that hope and practical vision may be inspired for a new, brighter future.

We pray for a day

· when Creator God's design for the many peoples and factions of the Northeast India community may be realized, both in concept and in daily experience

· when all the internal political and ethnic conflicts will have been resolved, and peace may be enjoyed by all

· when warring factions will have found a common purpose to live for, stop fighting each other and start fighting together for truth, justice and freedom for all

· when people may feel free to walk the streets, and to sleep peacefully at night

· when all people of Manipur fully understand, receive and experience God's blessings which were intended for them, and they in turn pass these blessings on to others throughout the world

· when the cultural richness of this land will serve as an enrichment to the rest of the world, whereas today very few people are even aware of its geographical existence

· when there will be a great outpouring of new songs, dances, dramas, visual arts and stories told in Manipuri style, recounting the many great things that God has done for these peoples.
