What
is this website about?
Originally,
starting January 1999, this was merely an information
website for Impact Media Ministries (IMM), founded in
1996. When the jetliners hit the twin towers on
September 11, 2001, the purpose for this site changed
dramatically to include written articles and
audiovisual presentations of social, moral and
spiritual significance to our nation. The first such
presentation appeared on October 31, 2002, in
response to the Harry Potter craze.
Along
the way, we have picked up "hitchhikers":
people and ministries who needed a home for their web
pages. These sites are now highlighted on the home
page. IMM has volunteered to host and maintain these
sites to benefit the respective ministries. The site
Hope For Manipur is actually an ongoing IMM project
related to an India people group.
Currently,
IMM is in transition, and so is the website. We will
continue to add and maintain presentations of social,
moral and spiritual significance. However, in a board-directed
effort to become more strategic in our use of media,
IMM is now moving towards the primary focus of "least
touched" youth outreach. This can be seen in a
recent article (click here). In time,
this development will be reflected and emphasized
throughout this website.
Moreover,
it is our hope that from this site, we might be able
to launch one or more new websites geared expressly
towards children and teens, with the purpose of
exposing them to the Gospel and offering training and
discipling resources to growing young followers of
Jesus Christ.
